This 1972 Ferrari 365 GTC/4 is one of approximately 500 examples built during just over a year of production and is said to have been sold new through Bill Harrah’s Modern Classic Motors in Reno, Nevada. Chassis 15323 was acquired by its current owner approximately a year and a half ago following a multiyear refurbishment that included a repaint in Verde Nijinsky and a re-trim of the interior in beige leather. Power is provided by a 4.4-liter Colombo V12 that is flanked by six rebuilt Weber carburetors and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Work performed between 2012 and 2017 also included an overhaul of the four-wheel disc brake system, a rebuild of the independent suspension, replacement of the quad-exit exhaust system, and a refresh of the 15” Cromodora alloy wheels. This 365 GTC/4 is now offered on dealer consignment with owner’s literature, invoices from the refurbishment, and a clean Florida title. The 365 GTC/4 was produced between late 1971 and early 1973 and shared an assembly line with the GTB/4 Daytona. Its bodywork was designed and manufactured by Carrozzeria Pininfarina utilizing steel and aluminum panels as well as a fiberglass firewall and floor pans. This example wore a repaint in red prior to the 2010s refurbishment, during which it was refinished in Verde Nijinksy. The matte black front and rear bumpers were also refinished during the project, and the windshield and rear window were replaced. A scratch is noted on the passenger-side fender. Cromodora alloy wheels were refinished in 2016 and are secured by octagonal knock-offs. Michelin XWX tires measuring 215/70VR15 are mounted at each corner as well as on a matching spare secured in the trunk. A freshening of the servo-assisted brake system during the refurbishment included rebuilds of the calipers and master cylinder as well as replacement of the hoses. The power steering hoses were also replaced, and the reservoir and filter were cleaned. The cabin was re-trimmed during the project with beige Connolly leather over the 2+2 seating and door panels, while the dashboard and console were re-covered with black mousehair. Equipment includes power windows, air conditioning, a Becker Europa stereo, front shoulder belts, and rear lap belts. The three-spoke steering wheel frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, and gauges monitoring oil pressure and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 20k miles, approximately 300 of which have been added under current ownership. Auxiliary instruments to the driver’s right include a clock and gauges for fuel level, oil temperature, and amperage. The oil pressure gauge was repaired in 2014. The 4.4-liter Tipo F101 AC 000 V12 incorporates an alloy block with cast steel liners and aluminum cylinder heads with dual overhead camshafts. Six twin-choke Weber carburetors are positioned on the outer sides of the cylinder banks and were rebuilt during the 2010s refurbishment by Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, Connecticut. Additional work during the project included rebuilds of the Magneti Marelli ignition boxes with Perma-Tune electronics, a cleaning of the distributors, repair of the oil pan, and replacement of the fuel pumps, points, spark plugs, ignition wires, V-belts, and various hoses. Power is sent to the rear wheels by a five-speed manual transmission, a torque tube, and a limited-slip differential. The rear load-leveling units were replaced with adjustable coilover shock absorbers during the refurbishment, which also included rebuilds of the front and rear shocks and replacement of the ball joints and various bushings. A replacement ANSA exhaust system was also installed. Invoices from Miller Motorcars are shown in the gallery below and list mechanical work during the refurbishment, while also describing paintwork in the original color.
