P1 Automotive is proud to present this 2015 Terradyne Gurkha Rapid Patrol Vehicle (RPV). Built by Terradyne Armored Vehicles of Ontario, Canada, the Gurkha RPV is constructed over a Ford F-450 Super Duty chassis and was designed for military, law enforcement, homeland security, and border patrol missions. The exterior features B4 level ballistic protection, which keeps occupants safe against gunfire up to .44 caliber, while keeping added mass relatively low with little effect on driving dynamics and performance. This example highlights features such as a custom King Offroad air suspension system, 20” Hutchinson bead-lock wheels with Continental military tires, a WARN 16,500 lb winch with a custom Terradyne winch plate, a roof-mounted escape hatch, Rigid Industries LED spotlights, an on-board high-flow air compressor, 4 surround-view cameras, a $12k custom sound system, and much more. Acquired by the seller in 2020, this extremely rare and well-equipped Gurkha RPV shows just over 12k miles on the odometer and is now being offered for auction out of Florida.

This Gurkha RPV has been outfitted with B4 level armor which offers the ability to repel most handgun rounds up to a 12-gauge shotgun slug. The fully-insulated double-wall hull is constructed from Hardox 500 steel, offering superior durability compared to standard steel. The ballistic protection comes in the form of Kevlar sheets and thicker glass windows. Exterior details of this Gurkha RPV include a manually-operated roof hatch, heavy-duty steel bumpers, heavy-duty step bars, front and rear tow hooks, a Class IV tow hitch, Trucklite LED headlights with mesh guards, Rigid Industries spotlights, a Weather Guard bed-mounted secure storage box, a WARN 16,500 lb winch with a custom Terradyne winch plate and Factor Five fairlead, and a swing-out rear tire carrier with a full-size spare.  This RPV rides on 20” Hutchinson bead-lock wheels mounted with Continental MTP 81 All-Terrain tires dated from 2017.

The interior retains the dashboard from the F-450, and features black leather upholstery with diamond-stitched inserts and seating for up to 5 occupants. The custom aluminum center console houses an sPOD HD controller for the lighting, onboard air compressor, and 4 external surround-view cameras, as well as controls for the front heated seats, an iCOM ham radio, a Galls ST160 siren amplifier with intercom, and two cup holders. The center stack contains a 7” Alpine ILX head unit as well as an additional screen for viewing the external cameras. Other interior features include roof-mounted grab handles for all occupants, a fire extinguisher behind the driver’s seat, and a custom sound system with triple rear-mounted subwoofers, upgraded component speakers, and custom dash-mounted speaker pods that were installed at a reported cost of $12k.

The Gurkha is powered by a Ford 6.7L Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 that provides up to 300 HP and 750 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission drives all four wheels through a shift-on-the-fly transfer case, a  4.88 limited-slip differential, and locking hubs. This Gurkha RPV has also been fitted with a custom King Offroad air suspension system that allows for full adjustability, with dual-reservoir shocks and a steering damper. Braking is handled by four-wheel vented disc brakes with ABS. The Gurkha RPV boasts impressive ground clearance, approach and departure angles, and can reach speeds up to 70 MPH using the military-grade Continental tires. Further modifications include a BDX performance program and DEF delete with ECU upgrade. The seller reports all maintenance is up to date with service completed by authorized Ford dealerships as well as Shaffer Performance Group of Alameda, California.
